Does it matter which webhost I use?

It doesn’t matter at all. We’ve worked with dozens of different webhosts and have established great communication and rapport with many of them. We can definitely make some educated recommendations for hosting if you don’t have one already, but we’re happy to work with whoever you choose.

What if I want to cancel and move on?

Well, we really hope that never happens. But, if it did, we’d offer you a pro-rated refund for the current month, no questions asked (other than what we can do to improve). Cancellation requests can be submitted at wpsitecare.com/cancel. If your card happens to get auto-charged and you weren’t planning to renew. Don’t sweat it. Just get in touch with us as soon as possible and we’ll issue you a full refund.

Can I upgrade my plan?

Of course. You can upgrade at any time. Just send us an email and one of our team will help you with the upgrade process.

Do you offer webhosting?

We don’t. We work closely with the webhost of your choice to make sure your site is operating at a high level. If you don’t currently have a webhost, we’d be happy to make recommendations based on our experience.

How do I pay?

We accept all major credit cards including Mastercard, Visa, Discover, and American Express. After signup cards are auto-charged each month on a recurring basis until you decide to cancel or upgrade your plan. If you choose the invoicing option, you’ll be sent an invoice via email each month. Payment is due upon receipt of that invoice.

Do you give any discounts if I want you to manage more than one site?

Yes! We definitely give bulk discounts. Contact us for details. We also have some exciting new things coming for developers that will allow them to work strictly on design and development work while we manage all of the stuff that’s not as fun. Stay tuned!

Technical Questions

How often do you update WordPress, WordPress themes, and WordPress plugins?

Generally updates are installed within 24 hours of release. We test all WordPress versions before they’re released to the public to try and anticipate any issues that may arise. If we believe that some kind of problem might come up, we’ll hold off on an update until a fix is in place, but that’s pretty rare.

How do you handle backups?

We take backing up our client’s sites very seriously. We manage site backups using the BackupBuddy plugin and create two daily backups of your site. One backup is stored at your webhost while another is stored offsite on Amazon S3 servers, the most reliable and secure storage platform on the web. That way, even if your entire webhost imploded, we’d be able to migrate your site to a new host without too much interruption. In hosting environments where BackupBuddy isn’t a good fit, we have custom solutions.

What’s included in a security audit?

When you signup we take a comprehensive look at your site and identify potential security holes. Then we take quick action and get them shored up. After that, we do the following on a monthly basis to make sure your site is secure and armed against hacker attacks:

  • We perform a series of security scans both over the web and locally on your server.
  • We do a file permissions audit to ensure that private files aren’t accessible to the public.
  • We check server and software versions to make sure they’re considered secure according to industry standards.

What’s included in site performance optimization?

We’re going to do a lot more than install a caching plugin! That doesn’t mean that we don’t install caching plugins, but we’re well versed in configuring the plugins to help improve site load times for your visitors. A poorly configured caching plugin can actually make site performance worse in some cases. We’ll also do all of the following:

  • Image optimization and compression
  • HTML and CSS code optimization (PHP and scripting optimization available with business packages).
  • CDN Setup and configuration (CDN fees not included)

What’s included in SEO Optimization?

We install and configure a couple of plugins to help manage this for you. We don’t do any type of link building or article marketing for your site. We do, however, set your site up in a way that search engines love to see. We also setup webmaster tools and make sure your site is crawled whenever you publish new content. Why does it cost more if I use Thesis or Genesis or some other Premium Framework?

We don’t include updates for premium frameworks in our “Starter” plan because many times this has to be done manually and requires more time from us.
