In June of 2013 I left my job to pursue WP Site Care full time. The last nine months have been some of the most difficult and rewarding of my life. I’ve become no stranger to 16 hour work days, and work/life balance has sounded more like an internet buzzword than something that’s actually attainable. When I first set out to build WP Site Care, I hoped to create a steady enough business that I could support my family, and maybe an intern if they wanted to help with some of the less technical stuff.
But as we’ve moved along, I’ve found that we’re definitely in the right place at the right time. Demand for our services is higher than anything I could have ever imagined, and my pipe dream of running a five person company within my first five years in business, is not only a possibility, it’s a reality.
Enough with the dramatics, ok? Let’s get down to business…
Today I want to introduce you to the two newest members of the WP Site Care family:
Bobby has 15 years of project and relationship management experience ranging from small dollars to $150M+ contracts. He enjoys working with new people and helping them learn and grow along the way. WordPress is one way to bond with people whether it’s for their business, their passion or even their charitable dedication. Bobby has been working with WordPress, design and development on both small and large scale projects for the last 6 years and full-time for the last two years working professionally to help people achieve their web presence goals with WordPress.
Bobby is an active member of the Austin WordPress Meetup, Chair of WordCamp Austin 2013, and will be a speaker at FitBloggin 14’. When Bobby isn’t tweeting about CrossFit, he’s spending time with his wife Kristy their 2 daughters mostly killing spiders and building ramps for them to shred on their bikes.
He’s also the founder of one of the premier internet sites about Bobby, internetbobby.com
Bobby will be joining WP Site Care to help with Business Developement, as well as special (super secret) projects that we have in the works. We’re working harder and harder every day to improve our product offering for our customers, and Bobby’s the man that’s going to make that happen.
Clay sincerely loves helping people. When he graduated from college a friend of the family needed someone to design a website. He said “sure, I can figure it out”. And he’s been working on designing and developing websites ever since. His favorite projects are helping small businesses get online, which has naturally led him to working with and loving WordPress.
He moved to Portland, aka the Silicon Forest, a couple of years ago and loves it, rain and all. The Pacific Northwest is an outdoor wonderland, and he enjoys it whenever he can separate himself from my computer or needs some vitamin D.
He can’t get by without music. He plays the piano and imagines one day you’ll see him playing in a seedy lounge somewhere or on a cruise ship if he’s lucky. He also love sports and still want to be a professional basketball player when he grows up.
Editor’s note: What Clay forgot to mention, is that he also has a background in UI/UX, and has worked with brands like Match.com, Norwegian Cruise Lines, Golfsmith, and many more. He brings a keen eye for design and usability that will be a huge asset for our clients, and also for us directly. You can see his full portfolio at clayteller.com
Clay will join WP Site Care as a Senior Design & Front End Developer and will be helping us pick up the slack where where we fall short, in terms of design.
Frankly, we have a good amount of work to do in order to get everyone on the same page, and working together as a unit. I couldn’t be more thrilled with the team chemistry we’ve had up to this point, and know that things will just continue to roll on and improve.
I guess if there’s one more thing I’d like to reiterate, it’s how grateful we are for the opportunities we’ve had to work within the WordPress community, and for our awesome clients. Getting to this point has been a long road, and we’ve had some bumps along the way, but we’re totally committed to ramping up our support game and continually improving our level of service.
